I am a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Southern California (USC) and the Director of the Vision and Graphics Lab (VGL) at the USC Institute for Creative Technologies.
Our lab broadly focuses on problems in 3D vision and computer graphics. We aim to make 3D reconstruction, simulation and rendering algorithms more efficient, robust, and interpretable—especially in terms of how data influences model behavior. Our research is grounded in real-world challenges, and much of it leads to the development of early prototypes with practical applications. Current and past projects include high-fidelity virtual human creation, performance capture, physically based neural rendering, large-scale terrain reconstruction and geo-localization, and differentiable physics.
